One of the most recorded number of complaints from people who have neuropathy is an amplified nerve pain during night time. Having little to no sleep not only disrupts your good rest but also it increases the overall pain felt in the nerves.
But what is nerve pain? Pain is the body’s way of sending a signal that something in our body is wrong. Nerves send signals from one point to the other point which is the brain. However, when the nerves are damaged, the body’s warning system can malfunction and create pain warnings for no absolute reason. This is what we call nerve pain. A lot of patients had reported a lot of success in relieving their nerve pain when treated using CBD-based treatments. Other patients even say that CBD oil heals nerve damage.
There are a lot of symptoms of nerve pain and it differentiates from patient to patient. Some of the most commonly reported symptoms are stabbing, tingling, burning, or prickling. These kinds of pain can happen in the different parts of the body, however, the most common areas affected are the hands and feet as these are the body parts that are mostly used in a day.
When having nerve pains, the most common solution was to keep a regular sleeping schedule. This means going to bed and waking up around the same time, by repeating this, your body adapts and gets a hang of the idea and creates its own body clock.
However, due to the evolution of science and with the cooperation of the field of medicine, a lot of discoveries had been found and proven. One of the medicines that is in a lot of debate right now is CBD or Cannabidiol.
What is CBD? CBD is one of the hundreds of compounds that can be found in the cannabis plant or what is commonly known as Marijuana. CBD had become so popular due to its natural remedy when used in a lot of common ailments. Although CBD is extracted from the cannabis plant, the level of THC that can be found is only less to nothing at all.
CBD has been reported to work on the body by reducing the metabolic malfunction of endocannabinoids, which are made by our bodies naturally. These endocannabinoids are the ones who modulate the pain pathway. The CBD indirectly increases the numbers of activity done by endocannabinoids which would result in the diminished pain sensation that can be felt.
While there are still questions about the effectiveness of CBD when used to treat nerve pains, and the approval of FDA is still ongoing, CBD has yet to be proven 100% effective to be out in the market.
It is agreeable that nerve pains can be a very uncomfortable condition. Nonetheless, science has yet to give a suitable treatment for this condition.
Even scientists state that nerve pain treatments are still limited in their effectiveness, and sometimes those prescription medicines can come with different side effects. At the end of the day, CBD can be a promising treatment but still need more proof and research to back it up.
